INSTALLATION

My installation for the Project-Lux exhibition was very straight forward.
I created six video files of varying lengths complete with individual soundtracks.
The files would all be placed via servers onto the six 52" large format monitors and use the monitors internal speakers.

The only problem I needed to address was to reduce the sound. This was overcome by using a curtain built into one of the walls near one of the enterances.

I had taken on several roles during the course of bumping in the exhibition. OH&S supervision and Technical Director. Both were quite easy to maintain.
Technical Director was to supply advice and parts, leads and Gaffa Tape where and when required.
OH&S supervision was just common sense and to make sure that the public's health and safety risks were minimal or non existant.
The evening ran smoothly with approximately 40 people in attendance.
A small number asked questions about my exhibit where I could explain the similarities between human memories and long term magnetic partical memories.
Someone replied with "I hadn't thought that storing data on magnetic tapes could end up being so damaging".

Below are images from the installation.
